27 years ago my family left their hometown of Marganets, Ukraine for a better life. The first year in the US was very tough for my young parents, they began to save money for tickets to fly back to the security of their family and friends. After a solo trip back to his hometown, my father made the final decision to remain in the US permanently.

Fast forward to 2022 our hometown is now being shelled by Russian occupiers that have captured the Energodar nuclear station just 10 miles across the Dnipro River. When news broke on February 24th, 2022 that Russia had invaded Ukraine I felt completely hopeless, so far away and unable to do anything to help my family and friends. God gave my family the opportunity to build a better and blessed life here in the US and I want to give back wherever I can. I am so pleased to be working with Lift Up Ukraine in order to support our people in their fight for independence and safety while also providing support for those that are seeking refuge from the dangers of the war that is tearing their country apart.
